Tutu Toussaint , The Royal Rebel of Burlesque
When I created the concept of the Noire Pageant, it was necessary to me that the first image anyone saw to promote the pageant was a beautiful woman of color. Most importantly, a woman with a berry hue to make a political statement and to honor my self-love journey. The choice for the Face of my pageant was none other than the royal rebel herself, Miss Tutu Toussaint of Toussaint Tinctures.
My goal is to change the face of beauty and to live in a world that celebrates dark skin, ethnic culture, and features. My goal is to live in a world where performers of color receive equal pay, opportunities, and adoration for their beauty and talent. I want performers of color to be the standard of beauty. We are beautiful and talented and deserve mainstream success and notoriety.
